Description
For sale is this beautiful piece of Carnival Glass made by The Imperial Glass Company of Ohio. The Pattern is "Open Rose". It's known as a Rose Bowl. The Bowl stands 3" tall and is 5 3/4" in diameter. The interior of this really pretty piece has 2 fully bloomed roses surrounded by buds and leaves. The exterior is beautifully detailed with more roses and flowers. The bowl is Green with a wonderful Gold Iridescence that accents the raised Green roses. The bottom is a Green collared base. The color is so spectacular, it changes beautifully with the light. This bowl is in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or repairs. The piece is unsigned as is true with this early pattern. Those Collector's of Green and Imperial who want an excellent example in both form and iridescence will love this bowl. This piece is early as it was made Circa 1915-1922. If you like this, please see the other carnival glass bowls and vases I have, I gladly combine shipping! (Vintage Carnival Glass may have none, some or all of the following: just a few or many air bubbles of various sizes, inclusions (ash, cinders, etc.), “straw marks” (actually shear marks), tool marks, worn, missing or pooled iridescence, heat checks (internal fissures caused by uneven cooling); rough seams, extra glass at seams or webbing between edge points. This glass was produced nearly a century ago in less than clean environments before Quality Control existed. It was cut with cold shears often producing what is commonly referred to as "straw marks". It was then hand pressed into moulds that did eventually wear out, thus lessening detail. Finally, it was hand-sprayed with metallic salts and sometimes refired for effect. Edge treatments such as ruffles, candy ribbon, pie crust or 3-in-1 were all hand shaped with various tools which often left tool marks. Keep in mind that these manufacturing imperfections are commonplace in antique carnival glass and just add to their uniqueness!) ♥Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ♥ Thanks for Looking! ♥Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ♥Vintage Imperial OPEN ROSE Bowl 5 3/4" Green Carnival Glass Gold Iridescence
